Effects of Urbanization CO2 Emissions in the Long and Short Term
Urbanization has become a major contributor to the rise in global CO2 emissions. This article explores the long and short term impacts of urbanization on CO2 emissions, examining how economic, social and demographic factors affect the relationship. It argues that while urbanization in the short term may drive up CO2 emissions, the impact of long term urbanization on CO2 emissions may be more complex, and could depend on a range of factors such as infrastructure development, energy efficiency measures, lifestyle changes and policy interventions. By understanding the long and short term impacts of urbanization on CO2 emissions, it may be possible to develop more effective policies to mitigate the environmental effects of urbanization.
