PoweroverEthernet,orPoE,isanincreasinglypopularwaytodeliverbothpoweranddataoverexistingEthernetcable,thusfreeingapplicationsfromtheconstraintofAC-powerproximity.AsthenumberPoEsolutionshasgrownsohastheapplications’appetiteforpower.Anewproprietarystandard,LTPoE++™,satisfiesthishungerbyextendingthePoEandPoE+specificationsto90WofPDdeliveredpower.LTPoE++alsodramaticallyreducesengineeringcomplexityinpowersourcingequipment(PSEs)andpowereddevices(PDs)whencomparedtootherpower-expansionsolutions.Plug-and-playsimplicityandsafe,robustpowerdeliveryarehallmarksofLTPoE++.ThecapabilitiesofthisstandardexpandthefieldofEthernet-poweredapplicationsbyseveralordersofmagnitude,enablingentirelynewclassesofPDs,suchaspower-hungrypicocells,basestationsorheatersforpan-tilt-zoomcameras.
