A distinctive cavity-configuration of a Brillouin/erbium fiber laser (BEFL) that features multiwavelength and bidirectional operation is presented. Multiple wavelength Stokes generation at Brillouin-shift frequency was realized using a Brillouin/erbium fiber laser that was configured in a two identical cavity configuration system.
