This guide provides an overview, instructions for using, and examples of Junos OS automation and the self-diagnosis features of JunosOS. Junos automation scripts,which include commit scripts, operation scripts, and event scripts, are based on Extensible Stylesheet LanguageTransformations (XSLT)orStylesheet LanguageAlternativeSyntax (SLAX), the JunosExtensibleMarkupLanguage (XML) application programming interface (API), and the Junos XML Management Protocol. This guide also explains how to use commit scriptmacros to provide simplified aliases for frequently used configuration statements and how to configure diagnostic event policies and actions associated with each policy.
