New Hydroxyapatite Coating Method for Biocompatible Material (Invited)

A new hydroxyapatite (HAp) coating method-laser assist-laser ablation method for Ti that is used as biocompatible material has been developed by using KrF laser. Two laser beams were used to form a HAp coating layer on the surface of Ti substrate. The HAp coating layer formed by this method had a high adhesion to Ti substrate.
