DCT-based Compression

Using a scalable DCT-based compression method of low hardware complexity we have reduced the size of the memory that is required for LCD overdrive. Compression ratios up to 16 do not lead to a noticeable loss of sharpness or artifacts. Due to the application of a novel technique this holds also for still images.
