New trends of Natural Language Processing systems are emerging. Applications of these trends have been applied to various domains including education, travel and tourism, health care, among others. Many issues encountered during the development of these applications are resolved by incorporating language technology solutions. The aim of the “Intelligent Natural Language Processing: Trends and Applications” edited book is to bring scientists, researcher scholars, practitioners, and students from academia and industry to present r ecent and ongoing research activities about the recent advances, techniques, and applications of Natural Language Processing systems and to allow the exchange of new ideas and application experiences. The edited book contains a selection of papers accepted for presentation and discussion at The Special Track On Intelligent Language Processing: Trends and Applications, International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Systems and Informatics (AISI 2016). Also, an open call for book chapters was targeted to researchers of the Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing research Community. This book is intended to present the state-of-the-art in research on natural language processing, computational linguistics, applied Arabic linguistics and related areas. We accepted 35 submissions. The accepted papers covered the following eleven themes (parts): Character and Speech Recognition, Morphological, Syntactic, and Semantic Processing, Information Extraction, Information Retrieval and Question answering, Text Classification, Text Mining, Text summarization, Sentiment Analysis, Machine translation, Building and Evaluating Linguistic Resources, E-Learning. Each Submission is reviewed by the editorial board. Evaluation criteria include correctness, originality, technical strength, significance, quality of presentation, and interest and relevance to the book scope.
